Governance Minister Trotman assumes responsibility for Natural Resources Sector

Georgetown, GINA, May 29, 2015

Recently sworn in Minister of Governance, Raphael Trotman is now responsible for oversight of the management of the nation’s natural resources which form part of the patrimony of Guyana.

Minister Trotman will occupy the offices on Upper Brickdam and has already met with the staff of his Ministry, a release issued today stated.

The minister has commenced scheduled familiarisation meetings and visits to the several agencies under his portfolio. During the coming weeks the minister will also meet with international, donor, and private sector organisations, other development partners and stakeholders of the governance and natural resources sectors.

Minister Trotman is expected to play a key role in the activities for World Environment Day which will be observed in Guyana, and internationally, on June 5, 2015. It is expected that the Minister will be out and about, supporting the efforts at restoring the image of Georgetown and that of communities outside of the city.

Minister Raphael Trotman, an Attorney at Law, previously served as Speaker of the National Assembly.
