The European Union Forest Law, Enforcement, Governance and Trade (EU-FLEGT) Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) was initialled at a special ceremony at Berlaymont Hall in Brussels, Belgium on November 23rd, 2018, and followed by a reception for participants and special invitees. Guyana elected as vice-president of the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Conference on Mercury 3 (COPs3)
In recognition of the strides that Guyana has made in implementing the Minimata Convention, Guyana has been nominated to serve on the Bureau of the Conference of Parties to the Minamata Conference on Mercury 3 (COP 3), with Ministry of Natural Resources Project Officer Marisica Charles, being elected as one of the two vice-presidents from the Group of Latin America and Caribbean countries (GRULAC).
