The Ministry of Natural Resources extends deepest condolences to the family of the late Allison Butters-Grant, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Global Seafoods Distributors, who passed after her long and heroic battle with cancer.
Ms. Butters-Grant has been rightly recognized as a trailblazer and true patriot. Among her numerous contributions to the country, she has played a great role in the natural resources sector as a miner in her own right, and functioned as an alternate for Industry on the Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative’s Multi Stakeholder Group (MSG). In that role, Ms. Butters-Grant brought a refreshing and enlightened perspective about the manner in which modern businesses must function. She was a source of inspiration within the MSG and wider natural resources sector.
We pray that the many happy memories of Ms. Butters-Grant’s life overcome the sadness and pain that accompany the family, as they journey the later years. May their hearts soon be filled with these memories of joyful times together as they celebrate a life well lived.
The Ministers of Natural Resources and staff, express their heartfelt sympathy to the relatives and friends of Ms. Allison Butters-Grant. May her soul rest in peace.
