Morale high among Corps of Wardens who are already involved in supporting several operations.
(Georgetown, Guyana) – The Compliance Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources is forging ahead with preparations to support the Natural Resources Sector. This was disclosed yesterday, June 14, 2018, when Hon. Raphael Trotman visited the Compliance Department and received a full update on the department’s work and activities from Director of Compliance Mr. Derrick Lawrence and team.
During the visit Minister Trotman also inspected the Corp of Wardens, viewed a display of vehicles and equipment that have been procured to support their work and addressed the wardens. He thanked them for their work and commitment to serve and assured them of the Ministry’s continued support in ensuring that the department is fully equipped to carry out its mandate.
The Hon. Minister also noted that moral was high among the group of 39 Wardens who have gone through extensive training to ensure they are fully equipped to perform their duties.
While plans are ongoing to establish stations for the Wardens to begin work in the mining areas, they have been providing support to agencies and operations in Georgetown and in the field.
