Job Vacancy: Laboratory Technicians
Location: Guyana Gold Board Operations located in the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo and Rupuni Districts (Lethem/Marudi)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the workstation and sample area for sampling.
- Assist with the daily calibration of scales.
- Weigh, burn, and sample gold.
- Prepare payment advice vouchers based on after-burn weight.
- Ensure the security of gold acquired daily.
- Maintain a daily stock record journal on a perpetual inventory basis.
- Perform related activities as required by the job.
Key Functional Competencies:
- Ability to burn gold.
- Ability to carry out sampling and density determination.
- Attention to detail (both mentally and visually).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- High work standards and productivity.
- Physically fit and able to handle demanding tasks.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Five (5) CXC/GCE subjects (grades 1-3 / A-C), including English and Mathematics.
- Science-based subjects are an advantage.
Technical Certification:
- Training and certification in laboratory procedures.
- 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field.
Computer Literacy:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
